Photo to Text Converter is a free online OCR utility built around one simple workflow: upload an image, extract its words, review the result, then copy or download the text.
What does the tool do?
The converter reads text from JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 10MB. It works with phone photos, screenshots, receipts, labels, and scanned pages. Results appear in an editable text box so you can correct anything before using the text elsewhere.
Why was it built?
Text inside an image is difficult to search, select, or reuse. Retyping it manually is slow and introduces mistakes. This tool keeps the conversion process on one uncluttered page, without requiring an account, subscription, or software installation.
How is text recognized?
Images are processed with Google Cloud Vision document text detection. This mode returns paragraph, word, and line-break information that helps preserve useful reading structure. OCR can still make mistakes, so important results should always be checked against the original image.
